Teaching with Technology
The more we use various technologies in the classroom, the more faculty realize that
even the "brick and mortar" institution has many more resources for working
with students than ever before. Some technologies, like WebCT and Webboard, offer threaded
discussion spaces on the web for students both in distance learning and face-to-face
classes. Also popular are list-servs. More recently, teachers have found Webblogs effective
for teaching because they can add, move, and arrange content with virtually no knowledge
of how to build a web page. Many teachers have also begun to harness the power of MOOs & MUDs,
chat programs that require students to write out their thoughts and ideas in often complex
