Registration is now open for the 9th Annual University-wide Teaching & Learning Symposium, Teaching & Learning in a Diverse Community of Scholars, to be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Doubletree Conference Center in Bloomington.

The 2009 Symposium will be the biggest in history, with 36 sessions presented by ISU faculty, a poster session, a welcome by President Al Bowman, the announcement of the 2008 Outstanding University Teaching Award winners, the announcement of the 2008 “Path to Excellence” departments, a free luncheon for registered participants, an early evening reception, and two nationally-recognized speakers:

  • Keynote Speaker: Dr. James Anderson, author of Driving Change through Diversity and Globalization—Transformative Leadership in the Academy, will give the Keynote Address following the luncheon.
  • Early-Bird Speaker: Dr. Raymond E. Schroeder, of the Office of Technology-Enhanced Learning University of Illinois at Springfield, will speak at 8:00 a.m. The title of his address will be “Emerging Technologies: Delivering Education to the World.”
